Tissue Salt Powders
W.Last tissue salts are manufactured by serial trituration of the mineral with lactose or a lactose free substitute called isomalt up to a D6 or D12 potency. They are supplied as powders or compressed into tablets.
Tissue salts, also known as biochemic remedies or Schuessler salts, are preparations that aim to address mineral deficiencies and imbalances in the body. While there are 27 recognised tissue salts, the most common 1-12 are often used for their specific indications. These salts are believed to support various bodily functions and may be used for multiple conditions, from bone health to skin problems.
As a longstanding name in natural medicine and herbal extracts, W.Last continues to honour the legacy of Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schuessler, who first introduced tissue salts in the late 1800s as a gentle yet effective means of restoring the body’s mineral balance at the cellular level.
What Are Tissue Salts?
Tissue salts, also called cell salts or biochemic salts, are microdoses of the body’s essential minerals. These include naturally occurring compounds like calcium fluoride, potassium phosphate, magnesium sulphate, and more.
Tissue salts are:
- Vital for cellular function and regeneration
- Popular in homeopathic and holistic wellness
- Used to support immunity, skin health, digestion, energy, and overall balance
Traditionally, these remedies have been delivered in lactose-based powder form, but with growing awareness around dietary intolerances and vegan-friendly alternatives, lactose-free tissue salts have become an essential evolution in natural health.
The Five Principles of Tissue Salts
- Disease does not occur if cell metabolism is normal
- Cell metabolism is normal if cell nutrition is adequate
- Nutritional substances are either of an organic or inorganic nature where the body is concerned
- The ability of the cells to assimilate and to excrete and further to utilise nutritional material is impaired if there is deficiency in the inorganic mineral (tissue salt) constituent of cellular tissue
- Adequate cell nutrition may be restored and cellular metabolism normalised by supplying the required tissue salts to the organism in a finely divided assimilable form
Lactose vs Lactose-Free Tissue Salts: What’s the Difference?
Lactose-Based Tissue Salts
- Prepared using lactose (milk sugar) as a base
- Widely accepted in traditional formulations
- Easy to absorb and dissolve
Isomalt Tissue Salts (Lactose-Free Tissue Salts)
- Lactose free alternative
- Lower caloric value
- Minimal impact on blood sugar and insulin levels
At W.Last, both lactose and lactose free tissue salt powders retain the therapeutic qualities and integrity of the original biochemical formulations, just adapted for your unique health needs.

Additional Salts (13-27)
While the initial 12 tissue salts are most widely known, a series of additional salts (13-27) were developed by later researchers and practitioners. These salts are believed to offer further support for specific conditions and can be used in conjunction with the original 12.
Tissue Salt 13: Potassium Arsenite (Kali Arsenicosum)
Potassium is important for the function of nerves and muscles, among other substances. Arsenic plays a role as a trace element for many metabolic functions in the body. In higher doses arsenic is a strong poison. Arsenic compounds are used for over 100 years in diseases such as emaciation, skin disorders, weakness and diarrhoea.
- Chronic skin diseases, for example eczema, itching with vigorous
- As an alternative to other salts in nervous suffering
- Disorders of muscle function, such as cramps and paralysis
- Low blood pressure
- Physical and mental debility
- Gastrointestinal discomfort associated with diarrhoea and vomiting
- Watery diarrhoea
- Gastrointestinal inflammation
Tissue Salt 14: Potassium Bromide (Kali Bromatum)
Potassium affects the nerve cell membranes and increases the glandular secretion. It also acts on the mucous membranes and skin.
- Asthma nervosum, whooping cough, throat irritation
- Acne and similar eruptions
- Sleep disorders
- Chronic pharyngitis
- Intestinal mucous with salivation
- Mental excitement, exhaustion
Tissue Salt 15: Potassium Iodide (Kali Iodatum)
Iodides are found in the pituitary gland, the stomach, kidneys, thyroid and the muscles.
- Thyroid disorders
- Emerging colds
- Rheumatic joint swelling, osteoarthritis
- Hypertension
- To lower heart and brain activity
- Loss of appetite, indigestion
- Arteriosclerosis
Tissue Salt 16: Lithium Chloride (Lithium Muriaticum)
Lithium chloride affects the nervous system, the prostaglandin metabolism, formation of red blood cells and some enzyme systems.
- Emaciation
- Inflammation of the urinary tract
- Nervous stomach ailments in children
- For anxiety and stress
- Psychological disorders
- Osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatism with painful swelling and joint stiffness
- Kidney infections
- Cystitis
- Complaints involving the heart, eg palpitations
Tissue Salt 17: Manganese Sulphate (Manganum Sulphuricum)
Manganese can be found everywhere in the body. In higher concentrations it occurs mainly in the liver and the pancreas. In addition, it is included in some enzyme complexes and plays a role in insulin production. Without manganese the body cannot provide energy.

- Circulatory disorders
- Toothache
- Eyelid inflammation
- Amblyopia
- Anaemia and paleness
- Rheumatic and rheumatoid arthritis, gouty complaints
- Weakened immune system and increased susceptibility to allergies

Calcium sulphide (as opposed to calcium sulphate) is one of the remedies used in homeopathy to assist with excretion of mercury and other heavy metal poisoning. The main applications of this salt are skin and mucous membranes.
- Exhaustion with weight loss (despite ravenous appetite)
- Neurasthenia (eg due to exhaustion or night work)
Tissue Salt 19: Copper Arsenite (Cuprum Arsenicosum)
Copper is a so-called co-factor and an important component of many enzymes. Where there is a copper deficiency, the following enzymes can be affected, respiratory chain enzymes, which are responsible for energy metabolism, as well as enzymes for the production of antioxidants and immune cells in the body can no longer be made in sufficient quantities.
